Born in Billinge, Merseyside, England, on 20 Oct. 20, 1975, David Lynn was raised playing golf in England, and grew up learning his golf game during the prominence of notable English golfer Nick Faldo. David began playing amateur golf in 1993 at the age of 19, A former England amateur international , he won the 1994 Greek Amateur Championship, turned professional in 1995 at the age of 21. His 1997 performance earned him his European Tour card for 1998, his professional wins are the 1997 Team Erhverv Danish Open on the Challenge Tour and the 2004 KLM Open on the European Tour, It came a week after losing a lucky ball-marker which had served him for ten years and adopting a new one. Often consulted a series of famous quotations to inspire him but ultimately put his victory down to a different token of luck, an 1891 ‘Queen’s Shilling’ which soldiers were handed when going to war, given to him by his father after losing his Wedgwood China ball-marker the week before going to Holland.. He has featured in the top 100 on the Official World Golf Rankings. That season ended up being his best, and he finished 26th on the Order of Merit and in the top 100 of the World Rankings.
David finished inside The European Tour’s top 90 for a 12th consecutive season in 2011, a Race to Dubai standing of 35 and Official World Ranking of 98, with 6 Top ten finishes, including 2nd places at the Iberdola & KLMOpens and 3rd place at The Portugal Masters. His 2010 best performance was his play-off loss to José Manuel Lara in the Austrian Golf Open.
